Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

In two days, I finished the book. The book answered many questions, which I often pondered, but was unable to figure out.

When I served in military in Taiwan, I was trained to operate and maintain wireless telecommunication stations. All of the equipments including stations were built by U.S. companies. The military highly depended on the services from these U.S. companies. Without them, I highly doubt the self-sustainability of these stations. Besides, I heard that China also purchased the same set of equipments from U.S. Since then,I was wondering the true reason why U.S. sold us these equipments. I think the book provides some hints about the reason.

With the knowledge from this book, I also found that it is not difficult any more to read between the lines about recent international news.

I still many questions unanswered. For example, what is the future of Taiwan. Can the independence movement going on in Taiwan be simply explained as "Taiwanese wants to be out of control of China"? Then, what is next? Into U.S.'s control? As an individual, what can I do? Can we escape from this invisible web? People say that the war between capitalism and communism had been ended. The war going on now is not between the righteous and the terrorism, but between Christianity and Islam. The war now is a religious war. Is that true? To find out the answer, I think I need to read the books by Arnold J. Toynbee. I shall do so.
