Tibet? Yellow Peril?

While Olympic game is approaching, it seems that China, Tibet, Olympic torches, boycotts and human-right protests become the most popular words on radios and TVs in these days. However, it is quite strange that there seems only one voice on major western media. Why is that? Sometime, I wonder what is really going on behind these surface phenomenons?

Due to my own special circumstances, I have chances to hear opinions from all sides (western, china and taiwan). Here are some different voices about these issues:

* http://www.peaceintibet.com/index.html
* http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/08/AR2008040802907_pf.html (好像是陳沖寫的文章。文筆挺好。) My personal opinion is that Olympic game was not, is not, and will not be just a game. It is always a focal point of politics. Pity, but quite true.

I hope that it is not the fear of yellow peril behind all of these epidemic phenomenons. Yellow peril does not distinguish a Japanese, a Chinese, a Taiwanese or a Korean from one another.

Speaking of Yellow Peril, I myself don't quite understand Tibet yet; there is a book, 天葬,by 王力雄,who is the author of Yellow Peril (黃禍)。 I will see if I can manage to get a copy from the local library.
